Per Mertesacker could still head out on loan from Arsenal

PER MERTESACKER’s exit from Arsenal this month has not been ruled out, according to reports.

The Arsenal captain is yet to play this season after suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season.The Germany World Cup winner is close to agreeing a new one-year contract at the Emirates.But the Evening Standard say he could still leave the Gunners on loan this month.

Mertesacker would find it tough to break into Arsenal’s team when he returns to full fitness.Countryman ShkodranMustafi joined in the summer transfer window and has formed a strong partnership with LaurentKoscielny.Mustafi is yet to lose in his 20 appearance in a Gunners shirt.
