March 5, 2019

ASANTE KOTOKO defender, Daniel Darkwah, says he is awed by his excellent showing in his first competitive match on his return from injury manifested against Nkana FC, in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Sunday.

The immaculate left-footed player, after 10 months out of competitive football due to a shoulder injury, was handed a big test, last Sunday.

Darkwah excelled, following which he has won plaudits from supporters of Asante Kotoko for his remarkable contribution to the team’s massive victory.

The Porcupine Warriors continued their high-flying home performances during this season’s Africa campaign with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Nkana FC.

Goals from Abdul Fatau Safiu, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Martin Antwi in the first half of the game were enough for C.K. Akonnor’s charges to amass all the maximum points.

The former Aduana Stars captain, who won two league titles with the Dormaa-based club tells ekowasmahsports.com that he always wants to perform well, when giving the chance but surprised himself with the type of performance he exhibited.

“Well, I will thank God for everything that happened last sunday. I always want to perform well when I am on the pitch but I was even surprised after the game with the performance I put up.”

The Porcupines will host Sudanese giants Al Hilal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their fifth match of the 2018/19 CAF inter-club competition, Sunday.
