Ronaldinho doesn’t seem an ideal choice as a club ambassador

Barcelona were delighted to bring the legendary Ronaldinho back to the club as an ambassador this week, but may have already seen why he’s not ideally suited for the role.

The Brazilian forward, currently without a club since leaving Fluminense, was a top performer for Barca in his five years at the Nou Camp between 2003 and 2008, but was eventually sold due to his lifestyle off the pitch.

Seen as too much of a party animal, Ronaldinho failed to maintain top fitness to play for a side of Barcelona’s standards, and that lack of professionalism was also on show today.

Invited as a guest to the Catalans’ home game against Deportivo La Coruna this afternoon, Ronaldinho instead marked his first game back at the club as an ambassador by relaxing on the beach.

The 36-year-old posted this snap on Instagram while the match was going on, with the caption: ‘Day to kill the longing for Castefa: Futvoley, godchildren and care of all friends !! My friend Mimo, thank you for everything!’

Same old Ronaldinho…
