Clinton, Trump, proven liars! – Colin Kaepernick

September 27, 2016

Like many people in this country, Colin Kaepernick isn’t too impressed with the major party presidential candidates.

In fact, he threw some powerful at each of them.

“It was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates,” the San Francisco 49ers quarterback told reporters on Tuesday.

“Both are proven liars, and it almost seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist.”

Kaepernick said he watched a little of Monday’s debates, but it apparently did little to change his mind on what either Trump or Clinton might do positively for this country in the next four years.

“And at this point,” he said, “you have to pick the lesser of two evils. But in the end, it’s still evil.”

Kaepernick gained national attention for his unwillingness to stand before NFL games during the playing of the national anthem as a way of protesting racial inequality in the country.

He has faced vocal support and backlash for his stance, and though some thought there was a chance the topic could actually come up in Monday’s debate, it did not.

Kaepernick had called Trump “openly racist” back in August, to which Trump suggested that Kaepernick might consider moving to another country “that works better for him.”

Asked about Trump on Tuesday, Kaepernick doubled down, turning a well-known Trump slogan on its head.

“It’s a very ignorant statement that if you don’t agree with what’s going on here, if you want justice, liberty and freedom for all, then you should leave the country,” Kaepernick said.

“He always says ‘Make America Great Again.’ Well, it’s never been great for people of color.

“That’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time.”
