Kotoko midfielder, Emmanuel Gyamfi, says a win against Aduana Stars will boost their confidence to win the Special Competition after failing to progress from the group stage of 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors host the immediate-past former Premier League winner, Aduana Stars, in Week 1 of the interim Ghana Football Association (GFA) Special Competition, Sunday.
Domestic football officially resurrects over the weekend after nine months in coma due to ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team’s shocking documentary on how officialdom manipulates the outcome of football matches and other vices, which aired June 6-7, 2018 across the country.
Speaking ahead of the blockbuster encounter, Asante Kotoko prodigious winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi, tells ekowasmahsports that they will build on their recent performance in the Confederation Cup to beat Aduana Stars.
“It’s a must-win game against Aduana Stars because that will revive the hope of our supporters in us. And a win will also boost our confidence in the competition.
“We have worked enough throughout the week to secure us victory. So, we will go into the match with (a) winning mentality,” Gyamfi assured the team’s fanatics across the globe, particularly in the country.
Aduana Stars are yet to beat Asante Kotoko in any competition at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where most teams go to die, virtually, a fortress where the Porcupines plan on claiming their scheduled victims, Aduana Stars, maintains Gyamfi.
