GERVONTA DAVIS says he wants to make swap boxing for mixed martial arts.
The former IBF super featherweight world champion has a fight with Jesus Andres Cuellar for the WBA super featherweight title on April 21 before he can make his switch to the UFC.
He said: “I think I want to fight in the UFC.”
Davis fights at a weight of 135lbs, in the UFC that would be the bantamweight division where the champion is TJ Dillashaw.
The 23-year-old’s boss and friend Floyd Mayweather has also flirted with the idea of taking on a MMA career recently.

Money Mayweather has even been offered MMA lessons for his potential Conor McGregor rematch by UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
The 35-year-old wrestling and boxing specialist – who has defended the belt three times – said: “I saw him at the Jordan party during NBA All-Star weekend.
“Floyd Mayweather is one of the best strikers of all-time.
“How many guys in the UFC that can’t wrestle and can’t grapple, consider themselves a stand-up fighter?
“But they have to stand across one of the greatest strikers ever, they are going to be in a world of smoke.”
- And, back in December, Mayweather said he had been offered a “billion-dollar contract” by the UFC – a deal worth around £750m.
