Ghanaian teen sensation Gideon Jung has signed a new contract to remain at Hamburg until 2020.
The current deal was expected to expire in the summer of 2018 but the hugely talented defensive midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a further two years.
Hamburg chairman Dietmar Beiersdorfer said: “We are very pleased that we were able to bind a very talented and viable player to us with Gideon Jung.
“He has made the step to the Bundesliga player with us and it is a good sign that he stay with us for the next years … ”
The Ghanaian, who is currently nursing an injury further posited:
“I feel at HSV a super backing is why I was also very pleased about the offer and did not think twice … ”
The youngster joined from third division outfit Rot-Weiss Oberhausen and has since impressed heavily.
