Asante Kotoko’s reliable goalkeeper, Felix Annan, says he will continue to work hard to keep his position in the men’s senior national football team, the Black Stars.
The safest pair of hands for Kotoko substituted Lawrence Atizigi in the second half of Tuesday’s international friendly between Ghana and Mauritania at the Accra Stadium.
Coach Kwasi Appiah continued his winning streak following last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat of Kenya as his charges beat Mauritania by 3-1 at the same venue.
Though Annan made his competitive debut in that match in the second half, he gave a good account of himself.
In an exclusive interview with ekowasmahsports.com, Annan stated that keeping for Black Stars is a major boost for him and that he would continue to work hard to make Ghana’s final squad for the Egypt 2019 AFCON scheduled to start in June.
“Every department in the Black Stars is not easy to compete. So, you always have to give your best in every game when given the opportunity.
“I will continue to work hard and surely, I know, I will keep my place in the team.”
Annan, who has been a consistent sterling performer for the Porcupines, was an unused substitute when Black Stars triumphed over the Harambee Stars of Kenya last Saturday for the final phase of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.
