Ghanaian businessman, Alfred Agbese Woyome, claims he led negotiations for the Black Stars to establish camps in Barcelona, Spain and Dubai ahead of the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups respectively.
The Black Stars had successful campaigns at both the 2006 and the 2010 Mundial. The team progressed to the round of 16 for the first time at the Germang 2006 world cup, then made it to the quarter-finals at their second appearance on the world stage, in South Africa 2010.
The good results could be attributed to good preparation, and the self-acclaimed financier of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alfred Agbese Woyome, claims he played a big role in the team’s successes at both tournaments.
“I arranged for the Ghana Black Stars to embark on a training camp in Barcelona, Spain, prior to the 2006 World Cup in Germany which resulted in the team’s splendid and impressive performance into the tournament,” He bragged to Aseda FM.
