                Jessie Lartey won Ghana’s only medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games

Ghana’s only bronze medalist at the 21st Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia, Jessie Lartey, has disclosed his aim of making the Black Bombers team for the 2020 Olympic Games to held in Japan.

Jessie Lartey, a Prisons Officer, says he wants to represent his country once more at the greatest sports festival before turning professional.

His dad, Lartekwei Lartey, the second assistant coach of the Ghana national team, the Black Bombers, shared during a radio interview at Accra-based Uniq FM that his son has made the Lartey family very famous and he is very proud of Jesse because he was nearly dropped from the Ghana team.

Lartekwei Lartey has a passion for training juvenile boxers and has coached many fine boxers.

He is the managing coach at the Fit Square Gym that has also contributed to the development of boxing in Ghana.
