The head coach of the senior national men’s football team, the Black Stars, Kwasi Appiah, has named three Asante Kotoko players in his 24-man squad to face Kenya in their last group AFCON 2019 qualifier scheduled for March 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The trio, ace defender Amos Frimpong, goalkeeper Felix Annan and high-flying midfielder Kwame Bonsu will have the opportunity to justify their invitations after impressing the Black Stars handlers during Kotoko’s ongoing CAF Confed Cup campaign.
The Black Stars have already qualified for the Egypt 2019 AFCON championship but the coach would be seeking to avenge the 1-0 loss to the Harambee Stars in Kenya, September of last year.
