While it took longer than many had wanted, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have erased the zero in their win column.

The Lakers dominated the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Tuesday night, cruising to a 131-113 win — their first of the season, and James’ first in a Lakers uniform.

While the game was tied up just seconds into the second quarter, a quick 10-0 run right out of the gate — sparked by eight points from Lance Stephenson — finally pushed the Lakers ahead.

The Suns couldn’t do much to stop James throughout the game, either — and it showed in the final seconds of the first half.

With just seven seconds left in the second quarter, James brought the ball up the court. He made a move behind his back to shake Trevor Ariza before driving into the lane. When he was finally stopped, he didn’t look to kick it out — but rather threw it off the glass to himself before laying it in, giving the Lakers a 26-point halftime lead.

And he made it look incredibly easy.

There wasn’t much the Suns could do in the second half, either. The damage was done as the Lakers cruised to the 18-point win.

Stephenson led the Lakers with 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists off the bench, shooting 10-of-14 from the field. Center JaVale McGee finished with 20 points and six rebounds. James — who didn’t see the court at all in the final quarter — finished with 19 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, shooting 7-of-16 from the field.

Devin Booker led the Suns with 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and center Deandre Ayton finished with 22, shooting 11-of-14 from the field.

James and the Lakers are back in action on Thursday night when they host the Nuggets at the Staples Center — which will be an attempt to pick up their first win in Los Angeles.
