After Liverpool and Arsenal expressed interest in signing Mario Suárez, the Atlético Madrid midfielder, both clubs have been warned off by the Spaniard’s agent.

Suárez, 28, is reportedly being tracked by Inter Milan according to Manuel García Quilón, who has been speaking to Football Italia.

“He is a spectacular player and the Italians wanted him,” Quilón said. “He was followed in January by three or four Italian teams, including Milan, Inter and Napoli.

“At the moment I couldn’t say if there are any meetings planned but it’s true that in the past he was pursued by Milan.

“We’re talking about an extraordinary player, who can represent the season’s best signing for any team.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been linked with a shock move for Oscar, the Chelsea midfielder.

Metro are claiming that the Brazilian is on Rodgers’s summer shopping list, though added that Atlético Madrid are also keen. And that Jose Mourinho is unlikely to sell to a potential rival.
