A KEY MEMBER OF THE ERSTWHILE NORMALIZATION COMMITTEE OF THE GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, SAMUEL OSEI KUFFOUR, HAS DISTANCED HIMSELF FROM THE ONGOING GLO-NC $1M SCANDAL.
ekowasmahsports called the legendary former Ghanaian international, yesterday, seeking his comment on the raging issue of a $1m cash payment effected by Glo, a telecom giant operating in Ghana, to one Frank Davies, the personal lawyer of the immediate past boss of Ghana Football, Dr. Kofi Amoah.
During the call, after our introduction, we introduced the subject of the reported cash payment of $1m by Glo, the former NC member balked.
He responded, “What?”, to which we re-stated we wanted to speak with him regarding the subject.
Then, he reacted, “What’s that got to do with me, Sir?”
Taken aback and unsure of his exact words, we asked, “What did you say?”
He repeated, “What’s that got to do with me?”
We, then, stated we were just about to ask a question, to which he responded, “No, as for this, I’m sorry”.
ekowasmahsports, then thanked the legendary former Bayern Munich star, to which he responded, “Ok”.
It is understandable that the former NC member would not want to speak on the issue since the illegal receipt is reported to have taken place on November 20, 2019, THREE CLEAR DAYS AFTER the NC’s mandate had terminated.
Also, by that date, the incumbent president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, had assumed the reins of power since Friday, October 25, 2019, TWENTY-SIX CLEAR DAYS before the illegal receipt.
