Our hard work will pay off – Emmanuel Gyamfi

Asante Kotoko key midfielder, Emmanuel Gyamfi, believes all is not lost for Asante Kotoko SC as they prepare to face Zesco United in Zambia for the last hurdle of the 2018/19 CAF Confed Cup group stage, Sunday.

The Porcupines left the shores of Ghana today to face the Zambian side – who lie bottom of the Group C table – in the hope of progressing to the next stage of the competition despite failing to utilize their brightest opportunity on home ground, the Baba Yara Stadium, against Sudan’s Al Hilal, last Sunday.

The Reds surprisingly drew 1-1 with the Sudanese giants in their last home match, slimming their chances of a potential quarter final berth.

The Ghanaian giants have no choice but to beat Zesco United to qualify alongside either Al Hilal or Nkana FC, who fight for honours in Sudan, this weekend.

Nkana FC is leading the log with nine points while Hilal are in second position with seven points.

Still, top performer, Emmanuel Gyamfi tells ekowasmahsports.com that, they are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for progress to the next phase of the competition.

“The match against Zesco is a massive one for us.

“We know to have any chance of qualifying, we need to win at all cost and we are putting in a lot of hard and I know the hard work will pay off.

“So, definitely we are going for a win,” he assured.

Gyamfi has been in good form for Kotoko in the campaign during which he has scored three goals and provided three assists.
