Pacquiao revs up preps for Vargas

Manny Pacquiao is continuing his gruelling training camp for his WBO World welterweight clash with Jessie Vargas.

The Filipino is just one month away from returning to the ring after a short period in retirement and was filmed by Top Rank pounding the heavy bag and speed ball.

The footage is in stark contrast to trainer Freddie Roach ‘s claims that the 37-year-old boxer is ‘tired’ as he approaches his 67th professional fight.

Veteran broadcaster Ronnie Nathanielsz reported last week that the veteran trainer was concerned by his fighter’s energy.

“I think he is getting a little tired, he looks flat,” Nathanielsz quoted Roach as saying.

“Manny is getting a bit older because of the stuff he is doing in the Senate [in the Philippines].”
