Real Madrid have decided to dismiss Alvaro Benito as the coach of the Juvenil Bteam after his comments on television and the radio, with club legend Raul Gonzalez replacing him.
Raul returned to Madrid three years ago as he underwent his coaching badges and took charge of one of the youth sides, where he has been for two seasons, but he will now have a promotion to working with the Juvenil B team.
Benito came through the club as a youth player and made his first team debut in 1995 under Jorge Valdano, sharing his first opportunities with Guti Hernandez. Injuries prevented him from reaching his potential as he was regularly in the treatment room, and his final club in a very brief career was Getafe.
He has guided the Juvenil B team to second in the table, only behind Atletico Madrid but with a game in hand. The sacking was not due to sporting reasons, but simply because the club did not like his comments to Movistar and Cadena SER.
