May 19, 2017

Nico Marley, the grandson of late legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, has been signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent, the team announced on Tuesday.

Marley, a linebacker from Tulane, tried out for the team during its rookie minicamp over the weekend.

As a senior, the undersized Marley (5-foot-8, 200 pounds) led the Green Wave with 88 tackles, including 14 for losses, and three sacks.

He was a two-time first-team All-American Athletic Conference pick over his last two college seasons.

His father, Rohan, played linebacker at the University of Miami from 1992-1994.
