WAYNE ROONEY could have played his LAST competitive match at Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s star will start tomorrow’s final Prem game against Crystal Palace on the bench.
And boss Jose Mourinho, who is saving his squad for Wednesday’s Europa League final, admits the Rooney situation is “very difficult”.
Roo, 31, will not start that game and can only hope to take part as a sub.
Then he is likely to make his final bow in Michael Carrick’s testimonial match on June 4.
Rooney looks set to be on his way, with options in China, America or at former club Everton.
It is clear his future does not lie at United and Mourinho admits it is tough managing a great player at the end of his career.
