Team Ghana Finally Settles for Gold Coast Game

Team Ghana has finally arrived at Australian City of Gold Coast, ready, together and upbeat about their medal chances.
Athletes from across the world are now settled into homes away from home, ahead of the Commonwealth Games which begins on 4th April.
Some 909 athletes from countries and territories as diverse as Botwana,Wales, the Isle of man and Ghana began arriving at the Games Village on Sunday.
Other teams to arrive in at the Village includes athletes from powerhouse nations Australia, Scotland and England.
In an interview with Ghanaguardian.com’, Ghanaian wheelchair racing athlete, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, was elated on Team Ghana’s arrival at the Gold Coast Village.
“I’m happy we have arrived (at the) Gold Coast Village, early. It will help to focus on our (respective) games, so that we can win medals for Ghana,’’ said Nkegbe.
He added “We were welcomed by the Queensland’s Commonwealth Games Minister, Kate Jones, who assured his support for Team Ghana’’.
Team Ghana will begin their opening game on the 4th April at the Gold Coast Village.
A total of 6600 athletes and officials from 71 nations and territories will move in to the Village before the start of the game on 4th April 2018.
