Accra Hearts of Oak’s stalwart defender, Musah Inusah, has described the experience of training with the Black Stars as “overwhelming”.

Inusah was among a few local players  invited to train with the Black Stars ahead of their World Cup qualifying tie with Uganda on Friday.

The Hearts defender, who trained with the national team, relayed that “The welcoming was good, and it’s as if I had known all the players for long and been with the team before though it was my first time,” Inusah told Hearts of Oak’s official media outlet.

“I was really surprised when I misplaced a pass [in training], and they kept encouraging and motivating me.

“It made me feel comfortable and at ease, because they kept saying ‘go on, don’t worry, the right pass will come’.

“It’s a positive feeling to train with the national team because it’s not easy to get a call-up. The experience was very overwhelming and I want to experience it again. I have tasted it once, and I am going to work harder for another opportunity.”

Inusah also extended his appreciations and gratitude to the supporters and management of Accra Hearts of Oak and the technical handlers of the Black Stars.

” I thank the management and supporters of Hearts for their true support to the team and myself.

“I am grateful to the supporters and the media for what they have done for me. They lifted me to the national team, and I cannot thank them enough.”

He concluded: “I also thank coaches Avram Grant and Maxwell Konadu for the opportunity to train with the Black Stars and I promise them I will rise to the occasion when my time comes.”
