Ampem Darkoa Ladies retain Ghana’s league title

Ampem Darkoa Ladies yesterday beat Lady Strikers 1-0 to win the 2016/17 National Women’s League (NWL) in a fascinating match played at the Babayara Sports Stadium.

A solitary strike by Priscilla Adubea was enough for Northern zone champions who successfully defended their title after beating Hasaacas Ladies 1-0 in last season’s playoff final.

The match lived up to its hype, with the two sides clearly showing why they topped the league in their respective zones with 31 points each, but Ampem Darkoa showed
demonstrated their quality o the match-day as they won their second title on the round.

It was the first time both teams teams were meeting in the playoff finals.

Meanwhile, the Police Ladies and Prisons Ladies are set to lock horns in the finals of the Sanford FA Cup final at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on 21 October, 2017.
