Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan, knows only the best performance will be good enough to see his side progress to the CAF Confed Cup quarterfinal in the last run of matches over the weekend.
Kotoko must beat Zesco United in Ndola on Sunday to advance to the knockout round of the competition.
The Porcupines could have secured an early qualification last Sunday if they had beaten Al Hilal in Kumasi, but a 1-1 draw has taken their chances to a precarious position.
Yet, Felix Annan believes that progress, on the last day, is possible if they put up a flawless performance.
“Progressing from this stage is not beyond us,” he told ekowasmahsports.com, today, stressing “but we need to put up big performance to secure that,” said the impressive goalkeeper, who has just earned a call-up for an imminent Afcon qualifier and a friendly in Accra, later this month.
Annan granted that Yacouba’s absence would somehow affect the team but determined that other players must prove themselves and grab their chances to help the club to qualify.
“Of course, Yacouba’s absence will affect us because he has been playing well for the club, but it is time those who will get the opportunity prove themselves and grab the chance very well to help the club secure quarterfinal berth,” concluded Annan, who must play his part to ensure qualification.
