November 17, 2014

Avram Grant will feel the heat during his expected spell as Ghana coach but is hopeful the Israeli will lead Ghana to win trophies at the highest level.

The former Chelsea boss has been in Accra since last Wednesday and is expected to be named the new Black Stars coach after Wednesday’s qualifier against Togo.

Ayew says he has who the new Black Stars coach will be has been the least of his worries even though he is looking forward to the Grant tenure.

“If Avram Grant has to come to Ghana we will support him. He is a good coach, he has coached big clubs and hopefully he will help Ghana. I am a Ghanaian and what is most important is that we win trophies and anybody that is going to bring trophies I will be with the person whether he is big, small or whatever,” Dede said.

“If he is coming to Ghana then I know that he will feel the Ghanaian pressure, he will know that Ghana is a country which needs to win because we have not won a trophy in a long while. I hope that the experience he has had and he has he will bring it and help us,” he added.

While Dede is looking forward to the arrival of a new man, he is keen to pay tribute to the men who have been in recent charge of the team. “Kwesi appiah did a good job, Maxwell had done a great job too. I have been impressed.”
