Messi, Mascherano, arrive for Copa America duty

With their opening game of the Copa America just days away, Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano have arrived in Chile to join up with the Argentina squad following their Champions League final victory.

The duo touched down in La Serena on Tuesday and will now begins preparations to face Paraguay on Saturday.

This comes after a memorable few days for the Barcelona stars, who clinched the treble in Berlin before taking part in a victory parade in the Catalonia capital.

The pair will join Premier League stars Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria and Erik Lamela at the squads base.

Messi’s side were drawn into a tough group alongside Paraguay, Uruguay and Jamaica as they look to lift the trophy for the first time since 1993.

The Copa America will be a chance for fans to see potential stars who could be coming to England in the summer and Argentina’s Nicolas Otamendi is one of those, with Manchester United interested.
