Wilder guaranteed $20m for Ortiz rematch

November 22, 2019

WBC heavyweight king, American Deontay Wilder is guaranteed approximately $20m for his rematch with Cuba’s Luis Ortiz, scheduled for tomorrow, in Las Vegas.

In that March 3, 2018 fight during which Ortiz tried to upset the applecart, the Wilder-Man stepped up the demolition voltage, and stopped the Cuban in R10.

Luis Ortiz, left, rocked Deontay Wilder and nearly took his heavyweight title last March.

An espn tweet within the hour cited both the official and guaranteed purses, as follows:

Per the Nevada State Athletic Commission, here are the official contract purses for Saturday night’s PBC/Fox PPV card in Las Vegas:

Deontay Wilder $3 million (but his guarantee is really about $20 million), Luis Ortiz $1.5 million (but his guarantee is closer to $7 million).

The tweet quoted the following figures, as well:

Leo Santa Cruz $750, 000, Miguel Flores $100, 000, Brandon Figueroa $200, 000, Julio Ceja $50, 000, Luis Nery $300, 000 and Emmanuel Rodriguez $75, 000.
